“Fascism was the greatest evil, and the defeat of fascism is of immense significance,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the Culture and Recreation Park of Veterans, where he laid a wreath at the memorial honouring heroes who fell in World War II.
Kobakhidze extended his heartfelt congratulations to the veterans on May 9, Victory Day.
“I pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in WWII. Fascism was the greatest evil, and the victory over it is truly momentous. This day is traditionally observed, and once again, I congratulate all veterans on this important occasion,” he remarked.
Victory Day is a solemn holiday commemorating the Soviet Union’s triumph over Nazi Germany in 1945.
