PM condemns Estonian Embassy’s attempt to politicise education reform as part of radical opposition’s agenda

“It is unthinkable that a particular embassy, in this case, the Estonian Embassy, is seeking to politicise the education reform, as a part of the agenda of the radical opposition,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

According to Kobakhidze, politicising the education reform is entirely misguided.

“We all recognise that the quality of higher education in Georgia leaves much to be desired, and this issue is evident at Ilia University, as well as at other institutions. This includes TSU, the Technical University, and both public and private universities. Our goal is to improve the situation. When the Estonian Embassy attempts to politicise this effort, it is both perplexing and wrong. Such actions represent yet another insidious attempt to lend political support to something that is fundamentally unpoliticisable,” the Prime Minister stated.
