PM believes Georgian sports and art not be messed with political dirt

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze says, “When something happens for the first time in all major team sports in over 30 years, it means that the government’s efforts are also big in all of this, although the government never tried to claim these victories for itself.”

In his Facebook post, Kobakhidze asserted that “the opposition is actively trying to drag Georgian sports and art into its own political dirt.”

“This also demonstrates their attitude towards the country and other aspects of Georgian identity. Only stateless individuals are capable of what our political opponents are doing to Georgian sports and art. It was their handwriting when they were in power, when they exploited compromised artists, athletes, and family members to suit their own limited political purposes, and it is still their handwriting today,” the Prime Minister stated.

Kobakhidze added that each Georgian citizen should spare no effort to fend off Georgian sports and art “falling into the political dirt of Saakashvili, Gvaramia, Khazaradze, Gakharia, and Gigauri.”
