PM backs Levan Ioseliani's candidacy for Public Defender

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said the candidacy of Levan Ioseliani, a member of the Citizens party, is acceptable for the post of Public Defender.

The PM expressed hope that the lawmakers of the parliamentary majority would support Ioseliani’s candidacy. However, it was up to the parliament to decide.

“We, the majority, decided from the beginning that we would not nominate our candidate but would support the person agreed upon in the opposition. I believe that Levan Ioseliani’s candidacy is absolutely acceptable. He is a worthy person,” Garibashvili said.

Georgia’s Citizens Party has nominated Levan Ioseliani to be the next Public Defender.
