PM announces bold reforms in higher education, unveils future development plan
“We have an ambitious plan to implement fundamental reforms in the field of university and higher education. We are currently developing a comprehensive concept that will be presented to the public shortly,” stated Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, during his speech at the opening of the new academic building of Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University.
As the Head of Government emphasised, regional universities, including Shota Meskhia University, will hold a pivotal place within this new framework.
“One of our main priorities will be the continuous and large-scale enhancement of regional university capabilities. In the coming years, we will introduce many innovations aimed at strengthening this university. I am confident that Zugdidi University, with its new infrastructure, will continue to play a vital role in nurturing a highly qualified generation for our country. This university has a unique role in realising our shared goal of national unification. I would like to wish everyone that this institution will contribute significantly to a united Georgia, educating our future generations,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
