Physician charged for nurse Megi Bakradze’s death bailed out

Violeta Inasaridze, a physician of Akhaltsikhe Imedi Clinic, charged for the death of 27-year-old nurse Megi Bakradze was bailed out in the amount of GEL 4 000, Tbilisi City Court decided on Thursday.

On December 28, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia (POG) charged the physician under the second part of Article 130 of the Georgian Criminal Code, (leaving a sick person in danger), which is punishable by imprisonment for three to five years.

Megi Bakradze, 27, died in Akhaltsikhe clinic following an allergic reaction to the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine in March 2021.

The POG had previously charged three people, including the said doctor, with providing false information over the case in 2021.
