“Georgia expects Pfizer vaccine starting from March 22,” Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia stated at the briefing on Friday.
According to Deputy Minister, a telephone consultation took place with the Pfizer head office and COVAX representatives.
“Additional conditions have been defined. We discuss all stages of Pfizer delivery into the country. We have sent further information to Pfizer HQ for final confirmation. According to the preliminary information, we will be getting 29,250 doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in Georgia any day starting from March 22. Consequently, the vaccination program will start in late March,” Tamar Gabunia said.
Deputy Minister noted Georgia also expects first shots of the AstraZeneca vaccine by the end of March. “Georgia will secure 129 600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine by the end of May”, Gabunia noted.
