Patrol Police seize large quantities of narcotics in Tbilisi; four suspects detained

Officers from the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) have arrested four individuals on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a significant quantity of narcotics.

The suspects are identified as I.B., born in 1972; A.B., born in 1994; and Indian nationals A.T., born in 2003, and S.M., born in 2001.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, patrol officers stopped individuals at various locations across Tbilisi for verification purposes.

“During personal searches, law enforcement officers also seized a substantial amount of narcotic drugs packaged for sale from one of the locations, including ‘Alpha PVP’ and ‘Methadone’,” the ministry stated.

Additionally, materials necessary for packaging drugs were recovered.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
