Patriarch hopes government, opposition to work for country's progress, prosperity
“The Central Election Commission (CEC) completed the process of revealing the election results which confirmed the Georgian Dream’s victory with the majority of votes. I sincerely congratulate them on this success,” reads the statement of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
Ilia II expressed hope that the government and the opposition would use the following years to work for the country’s progress and prosperity.
“It is true that the opposition protests the results of the elections and plans to continue protesting, but we hope that both the government and the opposition will be able to use the following years as much as possible for the progress and prosperity of the country.
Everything is God’s will and it is significant that there is synergy between us and God,” the Patriarch said.
The Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) endorsed the final outcomes of the October 26 parliamentary elections on November 16.
