Patriarch congratulates PM on appointment

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude, Ilia II congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on the appointment as Prime Minister.

“It is a very honourable position and, at the same time, a great responsibility, especially in our difficult times. May God grant that your work brings peace, prosperity and further success to Georgia. I wish you God’s protection and participation in the service of our nation and country” Ilia II said published on the web page of the Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC).

Eighty-four legislators backed Irakli Kobakhidze and his new government while ten voted against them in the February 8 vote.
