Parliamentary Majority: Georgia to have multiparty parliament

The Parliament of the 10th Convocation would be a multiparty, parliamentary majority leader Irakli Kobakhidze told GPB.

“I believe that the radical opposition and the political forces that have the resources to work constructively will be separated. As a result, we will get a parliament with no radical opposition,” Kobakhidze declared.

According to him, these parliamentary elections have their so-called winners and losers, the winning side, the winning parties, and the losing side, the losing parties. Therefore, the resources of negotiations should be separate.

According to the leader of the parliamentary majority, it is practically impossible to reach an agreement with the European Georgia and the radical wing of the United National Movement party. He said he sees no room for negotiations with these two.

Kobakhidze also elaborated to GPB that the UNM and the European Georgia were first to attack ISFED when the organization admitted the truth about the parallel vote tabulation.

“It turned out that fraud is what we hear about falsification and parallel vote tabulation. We pushed till the end to make the organization admit the defect in the PVT formula,” Kobakhidze said.

Those who relied on PVT the most are the suspicions. It is an interesting coincidence that Serbian PVT Formula had a defect, now we are talking about the Serbian model of holding early elections,” Irakli Kobakhidze told GPB.

Kobakhidze concluded that the international community widely acknowledged that the elections in Serbia were not competitive. As for the Georgian elections, it was clearly stated that the elections were competitive and free, the leader of the parliamentary majority noted.

It is noteworthy that speaking about the Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) methodology, the ISFED representative informed that the Serbian PTV model was used. However, NDI experts who participated in the process were not informed in writing about this model, which includes counting invalid ballots.

ISFED released a statement on the parallel vote tabulation of Georgian parliamentary elections on December 11. The statement read that the internal audit results confirmed the accuracy of the PVT methodology. However, a technical fault was identified in the vote calculation formula. Namely, the formula counted the number of invalid ballots along with the votes received by the electoral subjects, ISFED informed.

The adjusted ISFED PTV results coincided with the final results of the CEC.
