Parliament to hear from President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Regional Development during current session

On February 17, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili will deliver his annual parliamentary address on the most pressing issues facing the nation. The following day, February 18, will see interpellations with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Minister of Regional Development Kakhaber Guledani.

“According to parliamentary regulations, no other issues will be discussed on the day of the President’s address. Therefore, tomorrow’s session will be dedicated solely to the President of Georgia’s report. On Wednesday, however, there will be two interpellations. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will first respond to questions under the interpellation procedure. The Georgian Dream faction has posed a question regarding migration issues. Subsequently, the Minister of Regional Development, Kakhaber Guledani, will face an interpellation from the For Georgia faction,” explained Shalva Papuashvili.

According to the Bureau’s agenda, the Parliament will also review draft laws during this sessional week, including: the draft law ‘On Factoring’; amendments to the law ‘On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’; amendments to the law ‘On Legal Aid’; and revisions to the ‘Code of Product Safety and Free Movement’.

Additionally, the Bureau has referred the new legislative initiative ‘On Declaring the Law of Georgia on Joint-Stock Companies – Development Fund of Georgia’ to the Economic Policy Committee for further consideration.
