Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili presented the 2022 annual report and the 2023 action plan of the supreme legislative body to the lawmakers at the plenary sitting on Wednesday.
Russia’s full-fledged war against Ukraine, according to the Speaker, has shaken the global security architecture and international order, causing global instability as well as food and energy crises.
The war in Ukraine proved to be a “particular challenge” for Georgia as a part of the region.
“Under these circumstances, the support of our friend Ukraine and its people was crucial. Maintaining peace and protecting our people from conflict-caused crises was vital, too. I believe the Georgian Parliament, working with the government, effectively completed this challenging assignment and that the people would appreciate this effort,” Shalva Papuashvili stated.
