The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Secretary General of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Lazar Comanescu.
According to the Parliament’s press service, Lazar Comanescu noted that since the establishment of BSEC, Georgia, as one of the founding member states of the organisation, has always been actively engaged and has made a valuable contribution to its activities.
The meeting emphasised the importance of Georgia’s presidency of BSEC and PABSEC as a significant opportunity for the further development of the organisation’s work.
Lazar Comanescu spoke about the planning and implementation of new projects by BSEC, including the importance of involving business circles, as well as the possibility of joint research projects, particularly in the field of connectivity.
The parties also discussed the events planned within the framework of Georgia’s presidency.
It was noted that the world is facing numerous challenges and that a new world order is taking shape, making the strengthening of regional cooperation especially important.
The meeting was also attended by Irakli Mezurnishvili, Head of the Parliamentary Delegation to PABSEC.
