Parliament Speaker attends hunger-striking Droa leader
Georgian Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava attended Droa party leader Elene Khoshtaria, who has been on a hunger strike for two days in the parliament building.
Kuchava said he inquired about Elene Khoshtaria’s health state and noted that a physician was on duty in the parliament to provide medical assistance to the MP if needed.
“Every person has the right to be on a hunger strike. I just wanted to know if she needed anything,” Kuchava said.
Droa party leader Elene Khoshtaria kicked off a hunger strike on November 3 until ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili was transferred to a civic clinic. She deems Saakashvili’s detention and developments linked to his health state as “sadistic and cynical revenge against a citizen of Georgia and the third president.”
