Parliament to hold voting over the legislative package on the Service of State Inspector

The Parliament of Georgia will hold voting over the legislative package on the Service of State Inspector  through the first hearing at the plenary sitting today.

Deputy Minister of Justice Aleksandre Baramidze presented the legislative package yesterday, but due to lack of quorum, voting was postponed.

According to the amendments, an independent investigative mechanism is set up to investigate the cases of possible ill-treatment of law enforcers.

Service of State Inspector will work in three directions – inhuman treatment of citizens committed on part of law enforcers, protection of personal data and control legal principles during secret wiretapping.
