Parliament Chairman: Opposition attends session and engages in parliament work
“The opposition is attending the session. From now on, opposition MPs will take part in the parliamentary sittings,” the Speaker of the Parliament, Archil Talakvadze, responded to recognition of the authority of three representatives of the opposition Alliance of Patriots party.
Archil Talakvadze made the statement after Gela Mikadze, Fridon Injia, and Davit Zilpimiani became MPs. Their authority was recognized by voting at an extraordinary session on Tuesday.
“Colleagues, members whose authority has been recognized by the parliament, can come to the session hall. The opposition already attends the session, and they will take part in the parliamentary sittings and parliamentary activities from now on,” Archil Talakvadze said.
The Alliance of Patriots opposition party won four seats in the parliamentary elections. Irma Inashvili, Giorgi Lomia, and Gocha Tevdoradze renounced their mandates.
Gela Mikadze, Fridon Injia, and Davit Zilpimiani have filled the vacant MP seats. Avtandil Enukidze, number four on the parliamentary party list of the Alliance of Patriots, said he plans to enter the parliament.
