Parliament backs draft law on Family Values and Protection of Minors in 2nd reading
The Parliament of Georgia discussed the draft law on Family Values and the Protection of Minors by articles in the second reading and supported it with 81 votes.
MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili presented the draft, noting that “the notion of family, its regulations are also reflected in the constitutions of other countries and it is not seen as only a religious category.”
“Family value derives from the constitution, it does not have only a religious meaning.
We have done the right thing; we have properly regulated it, and it is critical for Georgia’s future to prevent everyday threats,” Sharmanashvili said.
