Parliament announces opening of applications for 2026 parliamentary journalist accreditation
The Parliament of Georgia has issued a notice regarding the acceptance of applications for parliamentary journalist accreditation for 2026. As outlined in the announcement, interested media organisations must submit their applications between December 1st and 15th, inclusive.
“A media outlet wishing to obtain parliamentary journalist accreditation must complete and submit the application form provided in Appendix No. 1 of the ‘Rules for Accreditation of Mass Media Representatives in the Parliament of Georgia’, approved by Order No. 1/31/23 of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, dated February 6, 2023.
The application must be accompanied by the following documentation: a copy of the journalist’s ID or residence card; an electronic photograph of the journalist (size: 3×4 cm); and, in the case of print media, copies of publications printed within the two months before the application unless the media outlet was established within the last two months.
For broadcasters, a copy of the relevant licence or authorisation confirming their right to operate must also be submitted.
The number of journalists accredited and authorised to form a film crew varies according to the type of media outlet: for print media (newspapers and magazines) — up to three journalists; for radio broadcasters — up to two journalists; and for online publications — up to four journalists.
For television broadcasters:
a) Public television stations — up to 15 journalists;
b) General national television stations — up to 15 journalists;
c) Other television broadcasters — up to three journalists.
The accreditation issued for 2026 will be valid from January 1 to December 31, 2026, inclusive.
Applications must be submitted by an authorised representative of the media outlet either in person to the Parliament of Georgia, Department of Records, Office of the Parliament, or electronically via email at [email protected],” the Parliament’s press service announced.
