Papuashvili: If Ukraine seeks friendly relations, Georgia will welcome it; time will tell
“Georgia’s contribution to the damage in relations with Ukraine is zero,” Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, stated.
According to Papuashvili, Georgia is awaiting steps from Ukraine.
“We welcomed Ukraine’s initiative from the very beginning and acknowledged that it was the Ukrainian government’s decision. The Foreign Minister conveyed what we had to say to his Ukrainian counterpart, including at the last meeting. Our contribution to the deterioration of these relations is zero. Therefore, we expect the Ukrainian government, if it is willing, to draw appropriate conclusions regarding what was right, what was wrong, and what needs to be corrected. The rest will be revealed by time. If Ukraine decides it now wishes to restore friendly ties, we will only welcome it,” he added.
