Political analyst Paata Zakareishvili will be the candidate for the post of Kutaisi Mayor of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

According to Zakareishvili, the offer was unexpected for him.

“Negotiations over my candidacy began on August 9. I agreed and will be the Kutaisi mayoral candidate of the Gakharia for Georgia party. Making a decision was not easy. I thought about it for a few days, then I had consultations and met with several people. The offer was unexpected.

I have been urging political parties since the second day after the parliamentary elections to launch preparations for the municipal elections.

My principled position as a citizen is to participate in all elections, because elections are a unique event to foster change,” Zakareishvili said.
