PM: OSCE report author refers to family values as 'so-called family values', which shows pseudo-liberal bias
“The author of the OSCE Moscow Mechanism report refers to family values as ‘so-called family values’ when mentioning the Law on Family Values and the Protection of Minors, which is a clear expression of her pseudo-liberal bias,” the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at the briefing at the government administration.
According to Kobakhidze, in this context it is not surprising that the law became the subject of what he described as a biased assessment in the report.
“The author of the report demands the repeal of the Law on Family Values and the Protection of Minors. More specifically, she negatively assesses provisions aimed at preventing the popularization of same-sex relationships and gender reassignment. She also denies what we consider the simple truth that a woman is a woman and a man is a man, and demands that the gender marker in identity documents be easily changed based on the individual’s own declaration. The fact that such approaches cannot have great value for Georgian society should probably not be controversial to anyone,” the Prime Minister stated.
