Orbán hails Georgian PM as "hero of international patriot movement" at CPAC Hungary 2025

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán delivered the opening keynote speech at CPAC Hungary 2025 in Budapest, praising Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during the world’s largest gathering of national conservative politics.

“Here with us is Irakli Kobakhidze, who is the Georgian hero of the international patriot movement,” Orbán declared to attendees.

“He won an election against the entire liberal world. He washed away the progressives; they rarely experience such a defeat. Meanwhile, he achieved Europe’s largest economic growth. And friends, all of this while 20 per cent of his country is under the paw of the Russian bear. He didn’t allow Brussels to press them into the war. He didn’t allow Georgia to become the second Ukraine. What a victory! What a success! Welcome, Irakli!” the Hungarian Prime Minister stated.

CPAC Hungary 2025 is organised by the Centre for Fundamental Rights and will continue throughout the week, featuring conservative leaders from multiple countries.
