Opposition MP Teona Akubardia has quit the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, though she will continue to work in a parliamentary political reforms group which is represented by the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, Republican Party leader and an independent lawmaker.
Teona Akubardia wrote on the social network that she believed the MP had to actively be engaged in the parliamentary activities together with other opposition colleagues, especially in the critical period for the country, namely in fulfillment of the recommendations for the EU candidate status.
She explained her decision by the Strategy Aghmashenebeli’s “distancing from the parliamentary work.”
“I decided to be an independent MP and continue to work in the parliamentary political reforms group for the country’s national interests,” Akubardia said, adding she wished success to Giorgi Vashadze, Strategy Aghmashenebeli leader and the party members.
