Opposition insists on early elections

The opposition wants early elections to be appointed. The elections will be set through the agreement or by force, said Gigi Ugulava, one of the leaders of the European Georgia party at the parliament building.

According to Gigi Ugulava, large-scale protests are required to change the government. He said the ruling Georgian Dream discarded the EU-mediated negotiations. The opposition wants to move aside the GD since it hinders the country’s development.

“The West will not help if we do not act. The only slogan these days and from now on will be Movement for Georgia,” Ugulava claimed.

The opposition and the ruling Georgian Dream party held negotiations mediated by EU’s Christian Danielsson on March 18. Danielsson, a special envoy for the European Council President on the Georgian political crisis, spent a week in Georgia to help the sides agree. However, the talks ended with no promising outcome.
