Official visit of Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili to Serbia commences

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, accompanied by his wife, Tamar Bagrationi, and a delegation, has begun an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

According to the Georgian President’s Administration, an official welcoming ceremony for the Georgian President took place at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla International Airport.

“President Mikheil Kavelashvili and the Georgian delegation were greeted at the airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Djuric, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to Georgia, Tatiana Panayotovic-Cvetkovic, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Serbia, Levan Beridze.

As part of the visit, an official welcoming ceremony will be held at the Palace of Serbia, where Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will host President Kavelashvili. The programme includes face-to-face and extended meetings, followed by a joint statement to the media.

The Georgian President is also scheduled to hold high-level discussions with Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić,” the statement reads.

The Georgian Presidential Administration further reported that the delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili, Members of Parliament Irakli Mezurnishvili, Irma Zavradashvili, and Guram Macharashvili, as well as Georgian Ambassador to Serbia Levan Beridze and representatives from the Presidential Administration of Georgia.
