Angela Merkel's official visit to Georgia ended

Official visit of Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany to Georgia has ended.

Before departure, Angela Merkel, along with Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, met with the German soldiers participating in 2018 Noble Partner military training at Tbilisi International Airport.

Today, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has arrived at the occupation line and got acquainted with the situation on the ground. She met with the representatives of the EU mission and received information from them.

German Chancellor arrived in Tbilisi on August 23. Within the framework of her official visit, Angela Merkel met with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, President Giorgi Margvelashvili, and oppositional representatives. Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia hosted an official dinner in the honor of Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany and government delegation.

Angela Merkel will continue her visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
