Occupied Abkhazia holds second round of so-called presidential elections

The second round of so-called presidential elections are held in Georgia’s occupied Abkhazia region.

Two candidates are running in the polls – former de-facto vice-president Badra Gunba and opposition leader Adgur Ardzinba.

According to the local media, 152 polling stations are open for the elections, two are operating in Russia, namely, in Moscow and Cherketsk. Over 134 thousand voters are registered.

Based on the de-facto Abkhazian Election Commission, in the first round of elections held on February 15, Badra Gunba secured 46.38% of votes, while Adgur Ardzinba – 36. 92%.
