Now important that enlargement policy be successful, EU Integration Committee Chair says

“The enlargement policy has been in place for decades; a process has begun that cannot be reversed; and, of course, it is now important that the enlargement policy be successful,” said the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili in an interview with Imedi TV.

Bochorishvili noted that the process depends on both the EU member states, and the candidate countries, and how they will manage to move forward on the EU integration path.

“This discussion has begun in the European Union and, I believe, will continue in the new European Parliament after the next elections. This is one of the major issues that EU member states are debating right now, and it is, of course, interesting to us,” Botchorishvili noted.
