Non-qvevri wines tasted in Germany
Tasting of the best Georgian non-qvevri wines was held in the German town of Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
According to the National Wine Agency, wine industry professionals, commercial sector representatives, sommeliers, and journalists participated in the blind tasting event organized within cooperation with German Media Holding Meininger.
The scores secured by the best wines will be published in Weinwirtschaft and SOMMELIER Meininger magazines in September.
The marketing activity represents an additional opportunity to promote Georgian wine and enhance its image in the German market.
Germany is the largest importer and wine-consuming country in Europe. A growing trend in Georgian wine exports has emerged as a result of activities supported by the National Wine Agency and consistent cooperation with Georgian wine producers. Between January and June of this year, nearly 784,000 liters of wine were exported from Georgia to Germany, representing a 22% increase compared to the same period last year.
