Nino Tsilosani: Anyone wishing to pursue higher education must be given the opportunity; our youth are the strength of our nation

“Education remains one of the government’s top priorities, and a major overhaul of the system is currently under way. While it may not be directly linked to the wider reform, nearly 1,800 university applicants structured their preferences in a way that left them unallocated; these individuals did pass the mandatory threshold, a factor the Prime Minister duly recognised and addressed,” stated Vice-Speaker of Parliament Nino Tsilosani.

Tsilosani emphasised that an educated youth constitutes the core strength of the nation.

“Following the Prime Minister’s decision, these applicants will have the opportunity to reapply for degree courses where places remain unfilled. Given that they achieved the minimum passing grade and possess the requisite academic standard to enter higher education, they ought to be granted a second opportunity to make their choice. The nation’s strength lies in its educated young people. Therefore, anyone who desires to pursue higher education must be afforded the means to do so,” Tsilosani added.
