Nikoloz Samkharadze meets Austrian Ambassador

Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria, Robert Gerschner.

According to the Parliament’s press service, the parties discussed bilateral relations between the two nations and opportunities for further developing cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of deepening parliamentary ties.

“Regional security issues formed a key topic of discussion. During the meeting, the ongoing war in Ukraine and the situation in the South Caucasus were addressed, alongside broader developments in the region.

The parties focused attention on the Middle Corridor project, highlighting its strategic significance,” the statement released by the Parliament’s press service reads.

According to the press service, Nikoloz Samkharadze briefed the Austrian Ambassador on relations and challenges between Georgia and the European Union, as well as the situation in the occupied territories.
