NBG: Volume of money transfers from abroad rose by 49.5% in March

In March 2021, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted USD 188.2 million (GEL 627.7 million), or 49.5% (USD 62.3 million) more than the amount in March 2020.

According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), 94.7% per cent of the total money transfers from abroad came from the nineteen largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in March 2021. In March 2020, the share of these 19 countries constituted 94.8% per cent of the total volume of money transfers.

In March 2021, USD 24.9 million (or GEL 83.0 million), or 21.9% more than 20.4 million USD in March 2020, was transferred from Georgia.
