The number of international visitors dwindled by 73.4% in March 2021, compared to 2020 amid the pandemic-related restrictions, Georgian National Bank (NBG) reported on Thursday.
The number of tourists reached 91.7% of the total visitors and shrunk by 64.4% annually, NBG noted. On top of that, the number of overnight visits decreased during the reported month.
The country faced a -90,3 % decrease from Azerbaijan, -82.8 % from Armenia, and -85.7% from Russia. The number of visitors from EU countries remains scanty (- 5.0 %), NBG said.
