NBG Acting President participates in Lamfalussy Conference

Natia Turnava, Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), participates in the Lamfalussy Conference, an annual event hosted by the Hungarian National Bank.

This year’s conference is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Hungarian National Bank’s establishment. The title of the 10th Jubilee conference is “Epoch of Geoeconomy: Evolution of Central Bank.”

President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Jeffrey D Sachs, American economist and Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, delivered opening remarks.

The conference participants engaged in panel discussions to review monetary policy. The NBG Acting President held meetings with her colleagues.

“We had quite productive and business discussions speaking about geopolitical challenges, exchanged opinions on inflation management, reviewed the macroeconomic situation in different countries and the role of central banks in normalizing inflation,” she said.
