NBG Acting President meets Ambassador of Czech Republic to Georgia

Natia Turnava, Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) met  Petr Kubernát, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia.

At the meeting, the sides spoke about successful cooperation between the central banks of the two countries.

The NBG Acting President thanked the Ambassador for Czechia’s support to Georgia’s European integration path, and underscored that full EU membership is Georgia’s main goal.

Natia Turnava familiarized Petr Kubernát with the ongoing projects in the financial sector for the development of financial technology (FinTech) markets, including digital Lari and open banking standards.

The sides stressed the significance to continue cooperation. The Czech Republic, together with the EBRD, assisted Georgia  in elaboration of the monetary policy and bringing financial and economic systems in compliance with the European standards.
