National Food Agency withdraws two batches of BABYBIO OPTIMA 1 from market

The National Food Agency is supervising the recall of two batches of BABYBIO OPTIMA 1 infant formula from the Georgian market, the agency reports.

According to the agency, sales of the affected batches have been suspended, and existing stocks have been identified, counted, and documented.

“The National Food Agency received a notification from Naturland, the official importer of Vitagermine’s BabyBio infant formula, regarding the recall of specific batches from markets in several countries, including Georgia, due to a potential risk of detecting the toxin cereulide.

The manufacturer has voluntarily decided to recall three batches of BABYBIO OPTIMA 1, two of which were supplied to Georgia:

BABYBIO OPTIMA 1 – 800 g, EAN: 3288131580319, batch 894408, expiration date 09/07/2027

BABYBIO OPTIMA 1 – 800 g, EAN: 3288131580319, batch 900035, expiration date 12/08/2027

The importing company immediately notified retail chains JSC ‘Gepa’, LLC ‘PSP-Pharma’, and LLC ‘Aversi-Pharma’, where the product is sold. Sales of the specified batches have been halted, warehouse stocks have been inventoried, and their withdrawal is being supervised by authorized representatives of the National Food Agency.

The National Food Agency urges consumers who have already purchased the specified batches of baby formula not to use them,” the agency’s statement reads.
