Natia Mezvrisvili – Information about inadequate reaction on various crimes is not true

The information about the inadequate reaction on various crimes on part of law enforcers spread by some media sources and individual persons is not true – Natia Mezvrishvili, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs said.

According to Mezvrishvili, making of similar statements in the pre-election period contributes to the promotion of impunity syndrome and encourages violence.

She said that 21 people have already been held criminally responsible in connection with the violence detected in relation to the election processes and 231 witnesses were questioned during the last 48 hours in order to verify the information supplied by different media sources and non-governmental organizations.

Mezvrishvili underlined that police mobile groups were established at the order of Minister of Internal Affairs to ensure holding of elections in peaceful and safe environment throughout the country. Mezvrishvili also called on every person and organization to inform the police about any fact of the possible crime.
