As Muslims celebrate Ramazan Bayrami starting today, Georgian Muslims attended the special prayer at the Batumi Mosque.
Adjara government chairman Tornike Rizhvadze congratulated the Muslims on the day.
Ramazan Bayrami marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Muslims around the globe will be celebrating the holiday for three days.
Ramadan is considered the holiest month of the year for Muslims. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from food and drink during the sunlit hours to learn self-control, gratitude, and compassion for those less fortunate.
Ramadan is a month of intense spiritual rejuvenation with a heightened focus on devotion, when Muslims spend more time reading the Qur’an and performing special prayers.
