MPs work on details of parliamentary visit to Ukraine

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met with opposition MPs Friday to finalize the details and organizational issues of the Georgian parliamentary delegation’s visit to Ukraine.

According to Papuashvili, he spares no effort to make the visit possible today and keeps constant communication with his Ukrainian counterpart Ruslan Stefanchuk over security issues.

“This will be a visit bearing an emotional strain to express our solidarity. I expect a friendly visit,” Papuashvili said.

Parliament Speaker will lead an eight-member delegation comprised of Vice-Speakers Davit Sergeenko and Levan Ioseliani and opposition MPs Ana Natsvlishvili, Vakhtang Megrelishvili, Khatuna Samnidze, and Giorgi Khojevanishvili. MPs from the United National Movement (UNM) party refused to engage.
