MPs get into verbal altercations at Committee sitting addressing Foreign Influence Transparency Law
The verbal altercation occurred during the Legal Affairs Committee sitting, discussing the draft law on Transparency of Foreign Influence” in its first reading.
During the session, Mikheil Kavelashvili, a People’s Power party member, called opposition MP Khatia Dekanoidze a ‘traitor’.
“You accused your own country of cooperating with the occupier. By doing so, you are betraying your country,” Kavelashvili addressed Dekanoidze.
Chairing the session, Anri Okhanashvili stated that the opposition seemed more inclined to discuss matters other than the draft law. He called Ana Natsvlishvili to calm down and warned her that otherwise, she would have to leave the hall.
