MP Zviad Shalamberidze criticises European silence and anticipates no response to PM's open letter from EU

“Certain leaders within the EU are prisoners of the decisions and actions they have taken towards Georgia. This is what prevents them from recognising such facts,” stated MP Zviad Shalamberidze, a member of Georgian Dream.

He argued that if the EU acknowledged the violence committed in Denmark, it would also be compelled to recognise the facts and violent actions that occurred in Georgia.

“They will have to address the rally on October 4, which aimed to overthrow the government. Today, we are witnessing the silence of European leaders, and it seems they will continue this stance. I do not expect to receive a response from the EU to the Prime Minister’s letter,” Shalamberidze added.

For context, the Prime Minister of Georgia recently addressed the heads of European institutions with an open letter.
