MP Sepashvili: Questions on Peter Fischer’s activities are welcome

Eka Sepashvili, a member of the People’s Power party, says she welcomes the fact that questions have been raised in Germany regarding the activities of German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer.

Sepashvili argued that what she described as “double standards” toward Georgia must come to an end.

“It is encouraging that democratic opinion remains strong in Germany and that questions are being asked about the Ambassador’s undiplomatic behaviour, which should be unacceptable to the international community. It is especially important that these questions were raised by one of Germany’s largest opposition parties and a sitting member of parliament. Double standards toward Georgia must end,” Sepashvili stated.

The German Foreign Ministry has summoned Ambassador Fischer for consultations.

The parliamentary group of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) formally addressed the German federal government with questions concerning the German ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer.
