MP Samkharadze: Opposition’s true nature laid bare; public now sees foundations on which UNM is built

“The truth regarding the opposition, who wielded influence behind the scenes and who pulled the strings informally, is now being exposed for all to see, despite attempts to pass them off as a force built on pro-European, democratic principles,” Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze has stated.

MP Samkharadze welcomed the revelation, stating that it lifts the lid on the opposition’s internal dynamics and exposes the true values underpinning the United National Movement (UNM).

“I would hesitate to refer to them as pro-Western forces, as I do not believe anyone could deem political parties that refuse to enter Parliament, reject election results, and have a questionable record on human rights abuses as genuinely pro-Western,” Nikoloz Samkharadze noted.
