MP Nikoloz Samkharadze: We cannot change our appearance to suit Kaja Kallas; EU must engage with Georgia’s elected government

“Kaja Kallas has stated on numerous occasions that they dislike the Georgian government and refuse to engage in dialogue for that reason,” Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze has stated.

According to MP Samkharadze, if the European Union adopts a pragmatic approach, it ought to engage directly with the government chosen by the Georgian public.

“We cannot change the colour of our eyes, our hair, or the shape of our nose depending on whether Kaja Kallas or any other politician happens to like us. This is the government elected by the Georgian people. Consequently, I believe that a pragmatic approach dictates the EU should be speaking directly to the very government chosen by Georgian society,” Nikoloz Samkharadze stated.
