MP Mdinaradze articulates right to know whether Georgian lawmakers are first globally to be sanctioned for adopting bill

“We have the right to know whether Georgian lawmakers are the first globally to be sanctioned for adopting a bill,” Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, Mamuka Mdinaradze, wrote on Facebook.

Mdinaradze noted that the opposition also has a right to be thrilled with more specific information instead of “some general hints announced for the tenth time.”

“I still believe that we should deal with this more seriously. For instance, we have the right to know whether Georgian lawmakers are the first globally to be sanctioned for adopting a law. Also, the opposition agents have the right to be thrilled with more specific information instead of some general hints announced for the tenth time. It is inhuman treatment when they are forced to be enthusiastic without concretization. It is even worse than calling the word “Russian” without entering into detail. They did not deserve such an attitude,” Mdinaradze said.

The US Department of State Spokesperson, Matthew Miller, announced visa restrictions on dozens of Georgian citizens. According to him, the first tranche includes members of the Georgian Dream, MPs, law enforcement officers and individuals.
