MP Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues, has stated that former President Mikheil Saakashvili’s wishes are of little relevance, adding that what matters is what the Georgian people want.

Matikashvili added that Saakashvili knows full well where the Georgian people stand.

“What Mikheil Saakashvili demanded, he more or less delivered on until 2012. He nearly wiped this country off the face of the earth by handing territories to the occupier, by slaughtering people in the streets, by allowing the rape of prisoners, by seizing property, and so on.

Saakashvili’s wishes are of little relevance; what matters is what the Georgian people want. They want neither Saakashvili, nor the Opposition Alliance, nor the United National Movement, and that much is plain. He knows perfectly well where the Georgian people and our country stand,” Matikashvili stated.
