MP Gorduladze: UNM cannot seize power—they seek to oust gov't, but no 'Maidan’ to be allowed in our country
“These groups are fully aware of their true support base and the number of votes they received. When they failed to come to power and were dissatisfied with their own results, they decided to annul the choice of the Georgian people. However, they did not succeed,” Archil Gorduladze, the parliamentary majority member, stated.
Responding to a journalist’s question regarding UNM’s Ani Tsitlidze’s claim that their election results reflect the data provided by the CEC, he said: “The Lelo party has recognised the election results multiple times because they receive funding and have a member in the CEC. Their statements are a farce, aimed at convincing voters that they are fighting. But what are they fighting against? Against the country itself. They are trying to overthrow institutions. These are tasks handed down by their masters. They know very well what their actual support is, and they understand that the public does not back them.
The UNM can’t seize power. They seek to overthrow the government through violence, but they will not be allowed to organise a ‘Maidan’ in this country,”
Gorduladze asserted.
