MP Giorgi Gabunia: UNM’s constitutional lawsuit is strategy to keep them in power
“The constitutional lawsuit orchestrated by the United National Movement is a deliberate effort to preserve their influence and maintain their presence in politics,” stated MP Giorgi Gabunia, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture.
He explained that this is an external manoeuvre, although the legal proceedings are ongoing and the final decision will rest with the Constitutional Court.
“Their lobbyists are determined to save the United National Movement. There are forces in the West backing this radicalism within the country. Political radicalisation appears to be their only strategy, especially when they lack other support and have no real chance of coming to power through legitimate means. The only avenues left for them are a coup or revolution. It seems this plan is still in motion.
For decades, these individuals have poisoned Georgian politics, with millions of dollars invested in their survival. The true aim of these ‘investors’ is to ensure this party’s endurance. No one can obstruct this legal process, as investigations have confirmed that the United National Movement is a corrupt regime. They continue to harm the country and destabilise the political landscape. This process must come to an end,” Gabunia concluded.
