MP Eka Beselia plans to raise 4 issues at today’s meeting of parliamentary majority
I consider it important that lawmakers discuss the criteria and procedures in the parliament without participation of those judges who have the conflict of interests,- senior “Georgian Dream” lawmaker Eka Beselia told reporters ahead of the meeting of the parliamentary majority.
The lawmakers said she intended to raise four issues for discussion at the meeting. “I came with the four main issues that I want to discuss in this format. The first one is about changes in the working group format; the second – appointment of judges for a life term must be suspended and I have already prepared this amendment; the third one- we must define the criteria and procedures in the law to be protected from risks and make a healthy selection of judges; the fourth – we should also discuss the issue of selection of the Chairperson of the Legal Issues Committee,” Beselia said.
When the lawmaker was asked whether she intended to speak about the secret video recordings depicting her private life, Beselia responded that this is not the “key issue of discussion.”
